Grocery Prices Fall to Record Low

Each month we look at the cost of the same 35 popular products across the retailers and analyse grocery trends. February’s Grocery Tracker revealed that prices fell to their cheapest level in more than a year. Our research showed that the cost of a basket of typical items cost £85.80, making it the cheapest recorded since the mySupermarket Groceries Tracker was launched over a year ago.

The products that fell the most in price in January included bananas, cucumbers and mushrooms (all down 6%) and grapes (down 9%). Fresh peppers, however, increased in price by 6% and deli bacon and ham rose 4%. mySupermarket regularly creates reports of this style for our valued clients.
